9.15-10.00 am : Keynote speaker : Dr. Will Norman, Univ. of Kent, Specialist in Nabokovian Studies
Biographical notice : Will Norman is lecturer in American literature at the University of Kent, UK. He completed his doctorate at the Oxford University, and has published articles and reviews in Nabokov Studies, The Journal of American Studies Modernism/modernity and The European Journal of American Culture. He has edited, with Duncan White, a collection of essays entitled Transitional Nabokov (Peter Lang, 2009) and is currently finishing a monograph on Nabokov, time and history. He is also beginning a research project on modernism and popular culture in the United States in the 1940s.
Dr. Norman will give an introductory talk on the notions of future and futurity in Nabokov’s Lolita :
